Raytheon is seeking an Operations Quality Control Inspection (QCI) Manager who will be responsible for leading a team of Operations Quality Control Inspectors/Technicians, including employee performance development, recruiting/staffing, employee training, and continuous improvement.  This manager will support operations and programs by ensuring products delivered to customers meet specified technical requirements using approved quality control documentation.  The Operations QCI Manager must be able to work within a cross-functional organization in which there is close interaction and collaboration with our Quality, Operations, Engineering, Product Control, and Supply Chain teams.

Job Responsibilities may include:

  • Accomplishes department objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating department activities for the QCI team
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Ensures a safe and secure work environment
  • Develops personal growth opportunities
  • Coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees
  • Coordinates and enforces policies, procedures, productivity standards, and ensure they support Mission Assurance, Program specific and Factory specific requirements
  • Continuous improvement of the quality control and inspection processes and procedures
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, onboarding, and training employees

Qualifications you must have: 

  • Typically requires a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years’ experience as a Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering professional including experience with high-reliability, state of the art systems or equivalent experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum three ( 3) years experience
  • Previous experience using calibrated inspection measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, microscope, and electronic test equipment
  • Experience with technical procedures, specifications, standards, and other engineering and manufacturing documents
  • Experience reading and interpreting drawings and blueprints
  • Experience with inspection application of MIL-STD-883 & J-STD-001
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean, and Continuous Improvement concepts
  • Practical knowledge in leading people and managing the execution of processes, projects, and tactics for micro-electronics and other aerospace/defense hardware fabrication
  • Ability to recognize and enforce compliance to Raytheon Technologies’ policies and procedures
  • Strong organizational and collaborative skills
  • Self-Motivated
  • Possess effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with assemblers, testers, engineers, and supply chain in a team environment 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledgeable with AS9100, QS9000, and ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Experience in aerospace-related manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge in managing End-Item packages, reports, or communications to/with leadership teams
  • Experience developing staffing plans
  • Experience with personnel management including timekeeping, performance reviews, and hiring
  • Ability to balance relationships built on partnerships and required performance
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Current active DoD Clearance

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
