The Regional Manager, Airports East plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of airport services, including above-the-wing (ATW) and below-the-wing (BTW) activities, and cargo operations at Hamlet stations. This position is responsible for overseeing airport services across multiple stations while ensuring adherence to procedures and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include managing, leading, and mentoring the management team while ensuring accountability for delivery of passenger processing, baggage handling, and cargo operations at designated locations. The role often requires travel to remote stations within the network to provide guidance and support to local leadership and teams. The position demands strong strategic planning to address operational challenges and drive continuous improvement. Additionally, the Regional Manager will lead investigations and manage corrective and preventive actions.

Duties and Responsibilities
Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:
- Oversee and continuously improve the airport customer experience, including check-in, passenger processing, customer service, aircraft servicing, and ground handling.
- Ensure compliance with both ATW and BTW processes and procedures, prioritizing safety and regulatory requirements.
- Provide on-site support at various stations to support improvement projects, address delays, staffing issues and other operational issues.
- Conduct regular assessments of airport services, compliance with regulations, baggage operations, and financial metrics to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Actively participate as a member of the Emergency Response team.
- Oversee safety management and quality assurance initiatives while driving continuous improvement in the operation.
- Lead and direct the airport operations management team, fostering an environment of safety, efficiency, and exceptional customer service through clear performance goals.
- Ensure adherence to domestic and international regulations, as well as Company and customer requirements.
- Oversee third-party handling services, including contract negotiations and performance evaluations to optimize service delivery.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for all areas of airport operations including customer satisfaction, on-time performance, safety and cost control
- Partner with the Training & Standards team to develop and implement airport Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure timely training for front-line employees
- Support departmental labor relations, including contract negotiations, discipline, and grievance processes.
- Provide valuable insights for performance analysis and strategic planning from an airport operations perspective.
- Develop and manage airport operations budgets with a focus on cost control and reduction with Managers to ensure profitability and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Conduct risk assessments and investigations in response to Hazardous Occurrence Incident Reports (HOIRs), ensuring the development and implementation of effective, corrective, and preventative action plans to address operational issues.
- Conduct quality control audits to guarantee that procedures are followed, and customer expectations are consistently met.
- Set clear goals for front-line managers, monitor their performance, and ensure accountability and development opportunities.
- Promote the professional growth and training of team members to enhance operational capabilities.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
Skills and Qualifications
Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
- Eight (8) years of previous experience in airline operations with a minimum of four (4) years in a direct leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, security and safety standards, and airport operating procedures.
- Must possess a valid Drivers License.
- IATA diploma in Aviation Security an asset.
- Proficient in Windows, Word and Excel.
- Superior Sabre skills an asset.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and projects effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing a unionized workforce.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.

- Experience with developing and implementing procedures.
- Must be willing to travel extensively.
- Ability to communicate in Inuktitut a definite asset.
- Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
