Job Summary:

The F135 Program Management Office (PMO) team is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as the Rolls Royce Subcontractor Program Manager. This position will be responsible for contributing to the management and leadership of the integration of Rolls Royce activities on the F135 program. The Rolls Royce Subcontractor Program Manager supports the P&W (Pratt & Whitney)/RR Subcontractor Integrated Management Team (SIMT) for Production and ECU F135 contracts.

The Rolls Royce Subcontractor Program Manager will also be responsible for leading the Subcontractor Control Account Manager (CAM) manager responsible for Production contracts.  The Rolls Royce Team provides design/development engineering services, production and spares hardware delivery and field support for the F135 STOVL Variant’s Lift System, including the LiftFan, clutch, roll posts and select components of the three-bearing swivel module (3BSM).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate internally within P&W across Engineering, Contracts, Legal, Finance, Procurement, and other functions to ensure PW executes flawlessly as the Propulsion System Integrator for the F135 STOVL Propulsion System.
  • Work with counterparts at Rolls Royce to ensure all activities on the F135 Program are efficiently and effectively managed.
  • Support of PW and Rolls Royce proposal and negotiation process ensuring proper flow down of proposal requirements to Rolls Royce, delivery of a Rolls Royce proposal to the JPO and successful negotiations of Rolls Royce scope of F135 contracts; Ensure the proper contract and budget flow down and manage baselining of all Rolls Royce F135 program requirements including prime contract, configuration management, cost, quality and delivery schedules.
  • Lead the CAM responsible for managing all activities associated with the management of RR’s List-System hardware and labor cost and schedule data for all active F135 RR Production subcontracts utilizing EVMS methods and principles.
  • Lead Delivery Assurance efforts and work with the Production Delivery Manager to ensure that deliveries of F135 separate group hardware is shipped to Lockheed Martin and Northrup Grumman in accordance with the STOVL schedule. This includes forecasting, order placement, delivery assurance and customer communication.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and empower the team to implement appropriate actions to achieve improvements and contribute to program achievements with the CORE operating system.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • A minimum  of 10+ years of EVMS, technical understanding, project management skills and Microsoft Project and Primavera experience required.
  • At least 5 years of  management and leadership knowledge to lead cross department project teams or manage across multiple related departments.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7+ years’ of EVMS, technical understanding, project management skills and Microsoft Project and Primavera experience.
  • Effective internal/external communication.
  • Knowledge of F135 program and product is desired.
  • Continuous improvement, supply chain management and working with suppliers is a plus.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
