Job Description:

Draken is looking for an experienced Squadron Aviation Resource Manager (SARM) for duty at a Romanian Air Force (RoAF) F-16 Training Center located at the 86th Air Base (86AB), near Borcea Romania. The SARM will be providing operations support for F-16 Instructor Pilots and Student Pilots. 

The SARM will function as the flying coordinator and assist in tracking all pilot currency and training requirements completion and assist the Flying Supervisor in daily flying operations.  This position is similar to the USAF 1CO career field. 

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the administrative needs of the RoAF F-16 Training Center working closely with the Training Department and Instructor Pilots. 
  • Maintain all the records for all the aircrew members at the Training Center
  • Maintains control and accountability of flight records, including aircrew qualification data in an Aviation Resource Management System (ARMS), medical recommendations for flying duties, aeronautical orders (AOs), physiological training, and centrifuge training.
  • Support Flying supervisor of the day in leading daily flying operations.
  • Talking to flight crew on the radio.
  • Support Instructor Pilot and Student Pilot with ground school hotel rooms and transportation.
  • Schedules aircrew training and aircraft sorties and maintains mission information.
  • Monitors individual flight requirements, unit flying hours, and aviation requirement changes.
  • Maintains control and accountability for ARMS data. Controls security access to ARMS data interfaces and advises on matters pertaining to ARMS requirements and modifications.
  • Provides new hire welcome email with flights, lodging, contact information for instructor and students.
  • Support flight personnel with ground school classroom/courseware setup
  • Verify on-boarding documentation is accurately completed & tracked.
  • Act as primary communication for training department regarding student pilot support/questions
  • Provide all basic office support functions.
  • Order/schedule office supplies/repairs
  • Manage documents – airplanes, land, cars, building, etc.
  • Maintain control of Aircraft iPads
  • General admin functions - meetings, minutes
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:

Squadron Aviation Resource Manager shall have the education, training, technical knowledge, and experience required.

  • Must be fully qualified in all aspects of Squadron Aviation Resource Management.
  • Previous experience working as a SARM or the equivalent.
  • Desired previous experience leading SARM team members.
  • Must be willing to mentor junior-level team members
  • Must obtain/maintain US secret security clearance
  • Must possess a current/valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Possess and maintain a valid passport
  • Must be able to workday shift, night shift, weekend shifts and/or travel as part of a team
  • High School /GED required
  • Must speak, read, write, and understand English

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Environment ranges from office to hangar and flight line. Extensive sitting to climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
  • Special vision abilities required are close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders and work stands.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depths.
  • May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.
