Job Description:
Alaska Seaplanes is dedicated to providing the highest standard of safety and customer service in Southeast Alaska. Alaska Seaplanes Safety Officer is responsible for implementing and coordinating safety programs for the entire organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administer safety program, including periodical audits
  • Identify safety and environmental hazards, risks, and promote the reduction or elimination of potentially hazardous conditions that may lead to accidents, occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and safety-related financial losses
  • Report and investigate aircraft, ground safety, and environmental accidents to determine the cause of the accident and formulate recommendations to help prevent similar mishaps in the future
  • Manage Medallion program
  • Prepare for and implement the Safety Management System program
  • Provide written reports which are clear, concise and meaningful for all ground/aviation safety and environmental matters
  • Comply with Alaska Seaplanes Operational Specifications, General Operations Manual and Operational Control policies and procedures
  • Understand and comply with the emergency response plan, revise when necessary
  • Chair Alaska Seaplanes Safety Committee Meetings
  • Present a professional and positive image of Alaska Seaplanes
  • Comply with all safety procedures and airline policies
  • Injury investigation
  • Ensure all safety sensitive employees have completed drug and alcohol training
  • Assist with drug program
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • Preferred aviation industry experience
  • Ability to use all required company forms
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, effectively and timely
  • Practical use of computers
  • Must be a United States Citizen or provide proof of right to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to obtain a Juneau Airport Badge
  • Be punctual and dependable
  • Able to fluently read, write, and speak English
Working conditions

Working conditions include lengthy periods of sitting, occasional standing and walking. Occasional travel that may require overnight stays.

Physical requirements

Physical demands that are essential to the job include sitting for lengthy periods of time.
