Job Description

The incumbent will be responsible for the successful deployment of the Corporate Responsibility (CR) strategy and for supporting the development and implementation of ESG reporting processes in close collaboration with the Finance team.

Responsibilities

Work in synergy with the rest of the Corporate Responsibility team (Leader, Senior Director and Senior Advisor) to deploy the CR strategy, with emphasis on ESG reporting processes.

  • Develop processes, policies and guidelines to support the strategy and the achievement of objectives.
  • Evaluate project proposals in terms of effectiveness, feasibility and strategic alignment, and monitor budgets and schedules for programs under his/her responsibility.
  • Sit on cross-functional working committees to ensure integration of CR strategy into operations (responsible procurement, ESG reporting and sustainable practices).

Ensure continuous monitoring of sustainability strategy.

  • Establish benchmarks, performance indicators and internal dashboards to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize systems, processes and controls to meet reporting needs.
  • Analyze and interpret data for various reporting needs.
  • Coordinate the production of the CR annual report and its updates.

Work closely with the Finance team as well as internal colleagues who contribute to the CR strategy in order to disclose the ESG information required by the various standards to which Transat complies:

  • Co-lead with the Finance team a working committee dedicated to ESG reporting according to the various international standards to which Transat is subject (voluntary and regulatory).
  • Contribute directly to the development of environmental, social and governance (ESG) reports for senior management and external stakeholders (investors, governments, customers, etc.). Develop new and enhanced environmental and social KPIs, implement dashboards, create reports and contribute to the preparation of internal presentations, memos and dashboards for the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Develop and oversee an updated ESG management and reporting system - i.e. data management, audit and reporting processes, in collaboration with accounting, risk management, investors relations and legal teams.

Mobilize internal stakeholders and external partners on all sustainability strategy issues (e.g. accessibility, ESG disclosure, decarbonization, responsible procurement, sustainable travel, etc.).

Other responsibilities

  • Act as SME - Subject matter expert in CR and ESG reporting to influence either decision making and/or management of cross-functional projects.
  • Monitor industry best practices in CR.
  • Work closely with the Communications team to promote our initiatives and programs.
  • Coordinate external mandates awarded to external partners for specific projects (e.g. climate scenario analysis, double materiality assessment, etc.).
  • Work on projects related to waste management, climate change, sustainable procurement and community investment.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in management, science, environment, sustainable development or other equivalent program.
  • MBA or Master's degree in management or sustainable development an asset.
  • Between 5 and 8 years' experience in a position related to sustainable development and/or ESG disclosure.
  • Experience in data management.
  • Communication and writing skills (several reports and presentations to be produced).
