Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Engage with business leaders across various functions to deeply understand and analyze their data needs. Apply business analysis techniques to capture and translate these requirements into concrete data initiatives.

  • Design, develop, and maintain both logical and physical data models, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Utilize tools such as Erwin for data modeling.

  • Proficiency in SQL and good knowledge of relational databases.

  • Lead and manage ETL processes, including data mapping, extraction, transformation, and loading of data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. 

  • Craft comprehensive data strategies that integrate a wide array of technologies and platforms. Leverage experience with industry-standard models to guide these strategies.

  • Establish robust data governance frameworks, focusing on data integrity, security, and compliance. Design systems with a forward-thinking approach to compliance, minimizing the need for future redesigns. 

  • Develop and maintain a strong concept of master and reference data within the organization, ensuring consistency and accuracy. 

  • Coordinate and lead the Data Governance Council.

  • Work closely with IT teams and contracted personnel, providing guidance and fostering an environment conducive to shared learning and problem-solving. 

  • Exhibit strong communication skills, effectively conveying complex data concepts in a manner understandable to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. 

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in data architecture and modeling, with expertise in logical and physical data model creation and maintenance. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven background in business analysis, with the ability to discern and articulate business requirements. 

  • Experience in insurance or reinsurance industries. 

  • Proficiency in Erwin or similar data modeling tools. 

  • Experience with ETL processes and data mapping. 

  • Familiarity with industry-standard data models and best practices in master/reference data management. 

  • Strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and the ability to integrate these aspects into data solutions.
