JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Senior Director of Flight Ops Training
Reports To: SVP of Flight Ops, Director of Operations
Location: Corporate (HQ)
OBJECTIVE
The Sr., Director Flight ops Training is responsible for designing and delivering learning development programs. This role will influence culture and oversee our crewmembers experience across the company via ground school classroom and various gates throughout the training footprint. The successful candidate must be both a strategic/visionary leader as well as a hands-on contributor with the ability to effectively execute plans. Critical to this role is the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, demonstrate versatility, and effectively balance competing priorities.
This role sets the strategic direction for the training department, ensuring all activities align with regulations, company policies and procedures. The Sr Director of Training leads the training department, prioritizing safety and operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate closely with SVP of Operations/DO and other operations leaders to drive improvements and ensure high performance.
- Lead a team that inspires an organization-wide culture of learning, growth, and belonging across a global organization.
- Coordinates re-qualification requirements for flight crew ground training to establish a consolidated ground training schedule.
- Directs administration of all pilot and flight attendant currency records.
- Directs quality control of FAA pilot records to ensure a daily inspection-ready status.
- Directs entry of pilot records data into the crew system, ensuring daily accuracy of data entry in the assignment of FAA legal Pilots and Flight Attendant scheduled flight shifts.
- Directs use of classroom facilities
- Manages the FAA pilot records and pilot training manuals for regulatory compliance.
- Edits and publishes pilot training manual for A320 family aircraft.
- Responsible for the flight operations and all related training programs
- Responsible for Recurrent and Non-Recurrent Training schedule planning and execution to ensure pilots complete training with minimal delay.
- Responsible for maintaining enough instructors, and training resources to match the volume of students being processed through training.
- Responsible for the quality of the training of flight crewmember APDs, Check Airman and Instructors
- Responsible for the quality of the simulators and training devices, as well as outsourced training
- Responsible for establishing and modifying the Aircrew Designated Examiner (ADE)Program
- Responsible for establishing and modifying the simulator training/device process and policies.
- Responsible for budget planning
- Responsible for the training center facility and lease agreements
- Represent the company with the regulator and industry organizations to maintain and influence best operating standards and practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Airbus A320, A321 experience or type rating preferred. Bachelor&39;s Degree and 10 years of aviation experience OR
- Five (5) years of FAR PART 121 experience which includes two (2) years of aviation management experience.
- Knowledge of FAR 121 pilot training requirements and record-keeping systems
- Knowledge of computer software programs: Word, Excel, Mint, RAIDO
- Expertise in organizational performance management programs and working closely with senior leadership.
- Prior experience as an APD, instructor, check airman and ATP license in a 121 environment is a plus.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Must be flexible and detail oriented.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and special projects assigned simultaneously.
- Knowledge of safety management systems (SMS) and their application in training programs.
- Self-starter, enthusiastic, dependable, professional team player

- ETOPS and International operations experience preferred.
- Demonstrated computer literacy in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher; with knowledge of and comfort with computer systems being required.
