Job Summary


The Senior Internal Auditor will participate in and  lead and lead the execution of Financial, Operational and Compliance audits to evaluate business processes and activities of various functional organizations for compliance with Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and company policies and procedures. The Senior Internal Auditor position is responsible for performing operational and financial audits, reviewing internal controls over financial reporting, and assisting with ad hoc special projects.


Job Responsibilities


•    Perform and  leadand lead Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) section 404, financial, operational, and compliance audits in accordance with the Internal Audit plan, under direction of a Manager. 

•    Examine records and evaluate procedures to determine the effectiveness of internal controls. 

•    Contribute and lead all stages of audit engagements including planning of audit, field work and testing for internal control evaluation, audit tests and report preparation within agreed upon timelines.

•    Perform and document audit testing during fieldwork

•    Review work performed by junior auditors

•    Prepare and present results of audit work performed, findings and recommendations to management.

•    Perform enterprise-wide audits for the Corporation in collaboration with the internal audit team.

•    During audit engagements, support management by evaluating existing business practices and recommending improvements.

•    Conduct follow up on audits to ensure that proper procedures to remediate issues identified have been implemented.

•    Execute special projects and other duties that the supervisor and/or management may assign.

•    Work with external auditors and internal resources to respond to requests for information and documentation 

 


Job Requirements:
Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in accounting with at least 5 years of directly related experience, preferably in a public accounting firm auditing environment or government contracting environment (or equivalent combination of education/training and experience)
•    CPA, CIA, or other audit-related certification preferred
•    Knowledge of and experience related to testing Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
•    Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
•    High attention to detail and accuracy
•    Ability to maintain a high level of objectivity and independence
•    Ability to manage tasks across multiple projects simultaneously
•    Ability both to take initiative and work independently as well as collaborate and communicate in a team environment 
•    Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
•    Authorized to work in the USA on government contracts
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills
