Key Responsibilities:

People leader that is responsible for the sophisticated daily operation of Regulatory and Service training at the IAH Inflight Training Center with over 120 team members. The position has oversight for Regulatory and Service Curricula Development team as well as the Training Scheduling team. In addition, it ensures unwavering compliance with all FAA and Company training regulations and requirements. The role is responsible for successful execution of innovative projects while focusing on cost efficiencies and productivity in a high-paced environment.

  • Knowledge, understanding and practical application of FAA regulatory and Company Flight Attendant training requirements to meet or go above and beyond
  • In-depth knowledge, understanding and practical application of a large and complex operational training logistics, as well as practical application of staff scheduling, hiring and qualifications requirements
  • Leads and encourages a large diverse team of over 100 team members while implementing timely process improvements to retain and attract talent
  • Sound and timely decision-making capabilities while leading multiple tasks within critical achievements, combined with strong personal and work ethic to deliver the best possible results in a high-paced environment
  • Strategizes, builds, and implements innovative training methods, tailored to different learning styles for instructors, flight attendants and new hires
  • Monitors, tracks and implements innovative solutions to continue to achieve regulatory calibration and standardization
  • Ensures all training processes implement to appropriate labor laws, other regulatory requirements, company policies and relevant collective bargaining provisions
  • Effective and responsible management of annual budget while seeking continuous improvements to reduce cost
  • Collaborates with partners (Finance, HR, Legal, Resource Planning, Talent Acquisition, and others) to align on targets and mitigation

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
  • 3+ years demonstrating the ability to lead a large and complex operation
  • Experience and knowledge of flight attendant regulatory training
  • Experience and knowledge of leading successful training operations
  • Leading a successful and sizable, team with varied strengths
  • Successful experience leading through innovation, strategic planning and sound decision making
  • Successful experience building highly effective teams and driving innovative approaches
  • Successful experience communicating and influencing senior leadership
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the Senior Manager role
  • Required to attend and optimally complete Uniteds Initial Training Program to earn Flight Attendant qualification. Acquiring and maintaining flight qualifications is a crucial function of the job. Failure to acquire and maintain flight qualifications may result in termination.
  • Willingness to align with flight attendant tattoo guidelines. Tattoos are not permitted on the head, neck, or hands, including behind the ear
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree
  • Advanced Qualification Program (AQP) Instructor/Evaluator qualification and
  • Initial Instructor Qualification (IIQ)
  • 3+ years of experience leading a large and complex flight attendant regulatory training operation
  • Inflight Experience
  • Flight Attendant experience
  • Experience in a unionized environment
