What the position is:

CommuteAir is seeking a full-time Charter Sales Manager to join its team and build a sales pipeline for the commercial startup of its 76-seat E170 aircraft in the second quarter 2024. This position will be responsible for coordinating branding and advertising, building relationships with customers and charter brokers, building out the internal procedures and infrastructure for charter operations, selling charter flights, and coordinating between the customer and operational departments for successful service delivery. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Network and Operations Planning.


Essential functions:
  • Prior to the start of commercial operations in Q2 2024, work with multiple departments to develop operational procedures and infrastructure to support charter flights
  • Immediately begin building a spaneting plan for the aircraft, including advertising and outreach to brokers and potential customers
  • Build a pipeline of customers and ensure the aircraft is fully sold
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication of the sales pipeline and projected revenue and contribution margin by contract
  • Be the main point of contact for internal stakeholders, customers and brokers during both the planning and execution of each charter flight
  • Take ownership of service disruptions, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions with clients and other teams
  • For full-service charters, coordinate with departments internally to obtain quotes and contract with vendors for fuel, handling, catering, parking and other services
  • Work with counsel as necessary to ensure charter agreements meet legal and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with the finance department to ensure compliance with tax and reporting on charter flights
  • Identify ongoing improvements in spaneting, sales, service and operational procedures
  • Maintenance, distribution and retention of all documents related to charter operations
  • Other duties as assigned
General requirements & qualifications:
  • At least five years’ experience of proven success in commercial aircraft charter sales and operations
  • Knowledge of supplemental authority and other relevant aviation regulations, safety standards, and best practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively liaise with clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work at non-standard times when needed
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
