Senior Regional Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Senior Regional Manager

DEPARTMENT: Customer Service

REPORTS TO: Chief Administrative Officer

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

Honolulu, HI based

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Regional Manager is responsible for guiding and overseeing existing stations, and opening new locations, within the designated region. The Senior Regional Manager provides leadership, direction, and support to station management to ensure safe and profitable operations.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide the necessary tools and procedures to all stations to ensure safe operations over several stations/locations.
  • Audit station operations and reporting major findings to senior management.
  • Oversee the safe and reliable station operation of daily flights. Manage the safety compliance protocols for your region including training, monitoring and responding to any safety issues in accordance with policy.
  • Oversee, coach, and mentor Managers and Supervisors and ensure they are responsible for the operations of their assigned stations.
  • Coordinate and assist in the opening and closing of stations to ensure the following are accomplished:
  1. Training
  2. Supplies
  3. Support Equipment
  4. Facilities
  5. Communication
  6. Proper retention of records
  • Gather and prepare various statistical reports.
  • Responsible for fuel management across the region.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and audit all work areas and job functions to ensure a safe environment and safe work habits are in place.
  • Ensure quality assurance and stations for station facilities
  • Manage, coach and mentor Station Managers/Supervisors
  • Identify, coordinate, and ensure training programs are administered and accurate to regulations and company policy.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets; manage and control costs within the operating budget; devise cost control strategies to drive profitability.
  • Coordinate and assist in the informational flow of customer service with other departments.
  • Monitor, direct, and administer staffing levels and justifications.
  • Ensure compilation and review of monthly reports.
  • Other duties as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to communicate in a very concise and effective manner with customers and supervisors
  • Good listener and able to project a calm, steady demeanor in all interactions
  • Stress tolerance and resilience
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated; able to work and meet deadlines under minimal supervision
  • Ability to multi-task in an extremely high-paced environment
  • Ability to work late evenings, weekends and other hours as required by the Call Center schedule
  • Ability to prioritize and execute with a sense of urgency and preciseness
  • Ability to work effectively in team environment and individually
  • Ability to learn, understand and communicate the terms of the company’s Contract of Carriage
  • Ability to become proficient in various software and reservation systems used

Qualifications Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelors Degree preferred

Experience:

  • 7+ years aviation operations with 5+ years management.
  • Multi-location management experience
  • Prior training, experience, and education are adequate to ensure ability to execute assigned duties with a high degree of competence.
  • Knowledge of AOSSP and other regulatory guidance documents.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the regulatory requirements of the 135 operations.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multi-million dollar budgets.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

Miscellaneous Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Computer, phone skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English effectively.
  • Ability to work within a 24/7 operation including holidays.
  • Ability to pass 7-year background check and pre-employment drug screen per airline regulations and/or company policy.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1986.
  • Ability to travel to locations within region and across the full network when necessary. Up to 25 travel possible.

Physical requirements:

  • Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position in a normal office environment.
  • Must be able to communicate through verbal, written and electronic means.
  • Must be able to access filing cabinets, drawers, and shelves of varying height.
  • Must be able to move up to 25 pounds on an infrequent basis.
