Job Description SummaryIdentifies, develops, and executes technology programs that positions Edison Works to win and deliver large military programs. Incumbent will shape opportunities, lead proposals, and execute contracts with various government/industry partners to advance GE competencies in areas that enable Edison Works to meet strategic objectives. Is solely responsible for individual project cost, schedule, and performance metrics and is principal Edison Works face to the customer. Operates with moderate autonomy to manage programs within general guidelines.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Builds strong relationships of trust with customer base through transparent communication, delivery of promises, and responsiveness to requests.
  • Creates and shape opportunities for contracted technology research toward Edison Works strategic capabilities.
  • Contributes to Edison Works strategic planning.
  • Works with other business units to create and maintain programmatic processes unique to Edison Works technology development.
  • Leads proposal preparation to win targeted contracts.
  • Advises on company funded technology development to close capability gaps and may provide program management oversight to individual projects.
  • Operates with autonomy to execute assigned programs delivering on cost, schedule, performance and fully informing customers on status.
  • Requires strong military awareness, and is expected to influence the development of strategy for their broad sales territory, including control of resources.
  • Requires experience with proposal development and program management.
  • Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems within projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, campaigns or customers. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders or customers. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Product Management
  • This role is restricted to U.S. person (s) (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
