Your role

Aer Lingus are now recruiting for the role of Station Operations Manager in our Ground Operations team. Reporting to the Director of Ground Operations Dublin, the Station Operations Manager manages all aspects of the Dublin operation namely Load planning, Station control, Safety and Security, TCO (gate management) including the Station Duty Manager team. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining best practice standards of productivity and efficiency in a highly regulated environment.

 

The manager provides leadership ensuring compliance with all safety & security regulation and is responsible for the delivery of on-time performance (OTP), optimum stand planning and continuous improvement in all operational processes. The manager shall foster excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

 

The Station Operations Manager operates within the dynamic context of Aer Lingus ground handling services at Dublin Airport and works closely with their peers to achieve Operational excellence, OTP, VOC, NPS and KPI targets.

 

The Station Operations Manager will actively engage in strategic projects and initiatives focused on developing and enhancing airport infrastructure.

 

Key responsibilities as Station Operations Manager include but not limited to:

  • Provide strong leadership to a team of multi skilled Station Control, TCO, Load Planning teams fostering a positive and high-performance culture.
  • Engage in airport infrastructure development projects, actively contributing to strategic decision-making for seamless integration with station operations.
  • Ensure effective management of operational SLA’s agreed with 3rd party providers for the provision of various services e.g. Aircraft Fuelling, handling of Passenger with Reduced Mobility handling (PRM)
  • Manage IR/ER issues within the areas within their remit i.e. Station Control, Load Planning, TCO teams in collaboration with IR Exec /HRBP as required.
  • Align departmental goals with the broader organisational objectives regarding safety, OTP, security and PVMV.
  • Ensure comprehensive training programs are implemented for all staff within your purview.
  • Prepare and present weekly reports to the Director of Ground Operations on key operational activities, challenges and opportunities within the department and provide concise updates and detailed analyses where required.
  • Analyse operational data regularly to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for optimisation and present findings and recommendations to the Director and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a keen understanding of financial transactions pertaining to the TCO, Station Control and Load Planning areas.
  • Implement Real-Time Data & Analytic Tools to drive OTP
  • Ensure that the team is fully compliant with all relevant regulations and standards and oversee audits.

Your qualifications and key criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of operational management experience in ground operations.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations and safety standards.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in budget management and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Customer focussed and committed to providing a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and influencing skills with ability to build and maintain positive relationships across internal departments and a number of external stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proven planning, co-ordination, monitoring and evaluation skills in an operational environment.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify the root cause of issues and develop practical, business driven solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address operational challenges and make clear cut, well informed decisions.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and demands.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU.
  • Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport.
