Stores Manager

Primary Objective of the Position:

We are looking for a highly motivated Stores Manager for our Logistics and Supply team in Hamilton (YHM). The position will be responsible for warehouse operations and aircraft maintenance logistics reporting to the Director, Technical Purchasing and Supply Chain.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Represent Warehousing and Logistics, being the prime management contact for our customers, both internal and external.
• Oversee the receiving, warehousing and distribution operations.
• Implement and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Carry out weekly and monthly departmental self-audits to ensure compliance.
• Lead and track cycle counts and inventory audits.
• Maintain employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.
• Responsible for managing all payroll documentation including overtime sheets, time-off requests and master payroll sheets for submission.
• Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding.
• Lead employees to meet Logistics expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
• Ensuring the implementation and follow-up of all Quality Assurance, Healthy & Safety policies, CAPS (Corrective Action Plans) and initiatives.
• Manage the required staffing levels, interview and hire employees, conduct employee performance reviews and disciplinary measures in accordance with Company policies.
• Be knowledgeable and remain current with ongoing industry best practices. Drive changes to achieve new business
• tactics and strategies in order to minimize the cost.
• Maintain and develop the level of qualifications, training and competency of personnel.
• Report SDR (Service Difficulty Report) and Maintenance Irregularity Reporting (MIR) of any findings to the Manager of Quality Assurance.
• Stay current with all technical and regulatory training required to function in the assigned role.
• Participate and lead team meetings and ensure shift handover process is complied with.
• Ensure a clean and safe workplace for team members.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum five years of Warehouse Management experience in an aviation environment, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent professional industry experience.
• Excellent understanding of warehouse management, logistics and distribution procedures.
• Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.
• Experience working with operating budgets and forecasts.
• Strong knowledge of compliance requirements related to supply chain.
• Strong focus on continuous improvement and achievement of objectives while maintaining positive and productive working relationships.
• Outstanding leadership, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
