Purpose of the position

As the Strategic Planning Manager, you will take the lead in orchestrating high-level planning for major aircraft maintenance events.

Your role involves seamless coordination with logistics, engineering, production, MROs, and operational departments. The objective is to optimize planning, considering due dates, fleet operational availability, budget constraints, and leasing agreements.

You will be at the forefront of managing Requests For Quotes, negotiating contracts, and overseeing base maintenance activities, with final responsibility for maintaining impeccable aircraft records.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategic Coordination and Planning (Key Result Area 1):

  • Lead and coordinate the planning of all base maintenance events, including C-checks and higher, as well as landing gear shop visits.
  • Develop high-level Bills Of Work and collaborate with engineering on landing gear overhaul workscopes.
  • Coordinate with logistics and purchasing to ensure timely provisioning of required parts.

Team Management and Efficiency Enhancement (Key Result Areas 2 and 3):

  • Manage, steer, and coordinate Technical Representatives, implementing procedures to enhance base maintenance efficiency.
  • Coach, motivate, and evaluate the performance of both Technical Representatives and Records Administrators.
  • Evaluate and implement electronic records systems for day-to-day business operations.

Strategic Alignment and Focal Point Responsibilities (Key Result Areas 4 and 5):

  • Act as a focal point within Brussels Airlines for planning all maintenance activities, collaborating with other departments for optimal company-wide planning.
  • Coordinate with external maintenance providers, initiating cost reduction initiatives and leading the Request For Quotes process.
  • Represent Brussels Airlines in Lufthansa Group initiatives, participating in relevant communities and working groups.

 

 

Operational Excellence and Flexibility (Key Result Area 6):

 

  • Assume the role of Fleet Manager in their short-term absence, ensuring seamless continuity and covering day-to-day business operations.

Your Profile:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Minimum Masters degree or equivalent through experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the aircraft maintenance environment.

Relevant Skills:

  • Experience in a Part M environment with knowledge of Part 145.
  • Proficiency in leasing and technical contracts.
  • Expertise in aircraft records administration.

Technical Skills:

  • Fluent in English, with knowledge of Dutch or French.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Project management proficiency.
  • Good IT skills.

Excellent people management skills.

Skilled bridge builder, cultivating connections and fostering collaboration with ease.

Willingness to travel on a short-term basis.
