Role Specific Details
This role will be based in HNL supporting the HA operation, and will relocate to SEA in a 2-3 year timeframe corresponding with TRAX system integration.
Role Summary
The AOG Supervisor oversees the execution of sourcing, procurement and logistics of operational critical aircraft materials supporting emergent operational needs at Alaska Airlines (AS). As a people leader, this role leads a team and uses considerable judgment to make decisions and establish priorities in collaboration with Maintenance Control, Material Control and Engineering stakeholders to assign tasks and create strategies to reduce AOG event(s), provide recommendations to address logistical process improvements and mentors team members.
Key Duties
Manages and evaluates the performance of the 24/7 AOG Sourcing Specialist against measurable performance goals with emphasis on executing proper internal controls.
Provide daily operational guidance to staff and ensure training and compliance with policies and procedures.
Execute on strategy established for the team.
Applies deep knowledge in AOG material requirements to make recommendations to reduce future AOG event(s)
Develop and implement process, procedures, and best practices to improve material requirement support.
Mentor and train AOG specialists on the team.
Analyze material shortages and manages replenishment activities with Material and Repairs Control to support sourcing and delivering quality materials that best support the operational schedule, with each decision considering location, availability, cost, and speed of execution with overall financial performance as a factor.
With minimal direction from leadership, exercise considerable judgement to make decisions in non-stock materials required for deferred maintenance.
Guide AOG Response Specialists with sourcing, procurement and logistics when necessary.
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by complying with Safety Management System (SMS) and Company policies and procedures as well as Federal Regulations
Contribute to the development of tools and processes which make our team and vendors more efficient.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
3 years of experience in material support department (e.g., stores, repairs, purchasing, material control, or maintenance), preferably in an airline or third-party maintenance vendor operation or related area.
Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Excellent interpersonal and communication (e.g., verbal, written, and listening) skills.
Detailed oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Comfortable interfacing with all levels within the Maintenance & Engineering organization.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Leadership or supervisory experience.
Experience in procurement and logistics.
Knowledge relating to the transportation of aircraft materials.
Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC) proficiency and other related aircraft manuals
Airport SIDA Badge Requirements

Salary Range
$63,400 --- $95,100 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
