Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Supervisor of Recruiting is responsible for assisting with the execution of recruiting talent strategy with the Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition/Pilot Recruiting and the full lifecycle recruitment process for assigned work groups and/or locations. This position will supervise an assigned Recruiting Team.
Job Responsibilities
Pipeline Development/Sourcing
- Advise Hiring Managers on a recruiting plan to attract top talent based on forecasted headcount, turnover and changing talent needs.
- Assist with development programs, building relationships with schools and other talent pipelines to create sustained candidate sources through partnership between PSA and the entity.
- Proactively source and identify active and passive candidates leveraging a wide variety to tools and techniques (social media, search engines and job boards) to build and maintain a quality pipeline, fostering long-term relationships with current and potential candidates.
- Identify and attend networking activities such as career fairs, industry expos, professional associations, technical schools and outplacement services, etc.
- Analyze recruiting trends, best sources, and recruiting metrics to guide Hiring Managers on when and where to target talent.
Screening & Selection
- Supervise the application, screening, interview and offer stages of the hiring process per PSA guidelines.
- Supervise the feedback process to all applicants to ensure a positive candidate experience regardless of selection decision.
- Screening: Supervise the application/resume, track record/experience, pre-screening assessments, thorough interviews (phone/video/in-person) that assess candidates’ technical and functional knowledge and leadership skills using behavioral and competency-based questioning techniques.
- Selection: Supervise the selection process by consistently reviewing the professional standards and update when necessary.
Pre-boarding
- After candidate accepts offer and provides signed offer letter, work with Onboarding Coordinator to schedule related pre-employment travel and accommodations, ensuring a positive experience.
- Initiate and ensure smooth transition of new hire processing up until Day 1 Orientation.
- Accountable for timely and accurate communication to all key stakeholders in the hiring process.
Administration
- Update Application Tracking System (ATS) with requisite and candidate status updates immediately upon receiving notice of information/changes.
- Review all requisites daily to ensure accurate information is recorded in the system.
- Each Recruiter is directly accountable for adhering to standard processes for Application Tracking System (ATS)
- Attend Recruiting meetings, share knowledge and skills with teammates, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures as well as with all applicable external regulations.
Key Stakeholder Communication
- Hiring Managers: Daily communication on sourcing and selection wins, obstacles, and issues (along with relevant solutions); consultative advice on best practices for hiring.
- Recruiting Team: Daily/weekly leadership on execution of Recruiting plans.
- Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition/Pilot Recruiting: Daily and weekly updates on staff performance, recruiting obstacles, wins, and issues; recording of all requested data for accurate metrics collection.
- Onboarding Coordinator: Candidate information needed to provide administrative support for scheduling, Preboarding, and Onboarding.
- Onboarding: Facilitate smooth transition of new hires through Day 1 Orientation.
- Executives: Produce dashboard metrics reporting and present to leadership weekly.
Team Supervision
- Monitor team’s assigned client groups/locations to ensure appropriate coverage of staffing needs and Hiring Manager satisfaction with regard to service, timelines, and results.
- Lead weekly touchpoint meetings with team. Provide team with guidance on company policy and first round approval of expense reports, time-off/scheduling requests, travel plans, payroll submission, and performance reviews. Second level of approval required from Assistant Director.
- Gather data from Recruiting Team to assist Assistant Director with metrics reporting.
- Lead weekly activity reports for team, highlighting search progress and disposition of all candidates.
- Mentor and train Recruiting Team, working with the Assistant Director to determine appropriate professional development tracts.
- With approval from Assistant Director, provide coaching feedback to Recruiting Team regarding execution of job responsibilities and behavior.
- Responsible for the Companys Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Specifics
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 4-7 years of full lifecycle recruiting experience, ideally in aviation industry.
- Track record of success leading, mentoring and/or training Recruiting staff.
- Experience executing Recruiting Programs (e.g. talent pipeline development, school partnerships, volume recruiting events, marketing/social initiatives, etc.).
- Track record of success building and managing stakeholder relationships throughout each phase of recruiting process; customer service orientation is a must.
- Knowledge of/Experience utilizing behavioral and/or investigative interviewing techniques.
- Creative sourcing/attraction of talent; ability to build a talent pipeline and bench.
- Exposure to legal and compliance aspects of Recruiting/HR.
- Extensive knowledge of social networking platforms, online communities, conferences, and other sourcing channels.
- Knowledge of applicant tracking systems, CRM tools and virtual recruiting tools; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment and meet deadlines in an aggressive growth environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor is essential, especially during uncomfortable situations and confrontations.
- Ability to speak/read/write in English.
- If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
- BS/BA degree
- 2-5 years of supervisory experience, ideally as a servant leader
- Experience recruiting and selecting in a high volume recruiting environment
- Experience with recruiting consultative sales
