As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the managers individual performance, and available funding.
The selectee will serve in the Hosting Management (AIF-400) section of the Office of Information & Technology.
Duties
The Hosting Services Division is responsible for the management of the hosting environments, cloud, co-location and on-premise and provides full scope of hosting management, including contract management, stakeholder management, architecture and engineering, Center of Excellence and operations and maintenance. It includes two branches, each having an integrated role and responsibility in facilitating and managing hosting services. The Hosting Management Branch provides a full scope of product management support, including contract management, Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE), stakeholder management, and architecture and engineering across all hosting environments (cloud, co-lo, and on-premise). Assesses the provisioning of hosting solutions for AIT’s stakeholders at FAA’s data centers, Co-location facilities, and FAA Cloud Service (FCS) providers. The Operations and Maintenance Branch executes the provisioning of hosting solutions for AIT’s stakeholders at FAA’s data centers, Colocation facilities, and FAA Cloud Service (FCS) providers. Supports hosting file share resources for FAA field facilities. Responsible for securing and managing AIT’s operating systems, servers, virtual infrastructure, storage and backup solutions, and the F5 environment for load balancing application servers. Provides environmental (space, power, cooling) hosting within the data centers, provisions the infrastructure to support web hosting, and configures the operating system environment for system disaster recovery solutions, both on premises and in FCS.
In addition, you will be responsible for the following:
- Serving as a first or second level supervisor typically over more than one unit/project/program within a major subdivision; planning both routine and complex work to be accomplished, assigning work, setting priorities and reviewing and evaluating work and performance of subordinates;
- Coaching and developing employees; approving leave; taking, recommending or approving disciplinary actions;
- Managing budget and assigned resources including planning for both short-term and long term needs utilizing advanced technical knowledge of work as well as budget, human resources, and applicable administrative policies and processes;
- Resolving all but unique problems independently and recommending new policies and procedures that impact the objectives of the unit(s) managed as well as internal and external customers;
- Collaborating with peer managers to establish, manage and execute enterprise processes;
- Collaborating with peer managers to identify, manage and generate appropriate reporting and metrics standards.
