As a member of the Pratt Whitney AutoAir (PWAA) team, you will be a key member of a dynamic team responsible for delivering aerospace components and assemblies to our military and commercial customers around the globe.  PWAA delivers hardware for both new engine assembly and aftermarket new spare parts.  PWAA consists of approximately 700 employees which includes locations in East Lansing and Holt Michigan. This role will be accountable to the OEM and AMO general managers with a team of 15 salary and 30 hourly employees.


What you will do:

  • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain
  • Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain
  • Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies located at the site and maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production
  • Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company
  • Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes
  • Assesses the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials
  • Actively participates with the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions
  • Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments
  • This position forecast’s part deliveries up to 10 years and makes decisions that impact daily, monthly and yearly requirements and manages the month over month build plans to support engine requirements for NGPF, Legacy Commercial, F135 and Legacy Military Programs
  • The ideal candidate will have strong process improvement, talent development and coaching/mentoring skills
  • Be a strong leader and drive employee engagement with a focus on succession planning as well as change management initiatives
  • Lead and manage significant organizational changes that integrates systems, processes, and culture
  • Resolves complex cross functional and organizational issues that require significant stakeholder engagement and influencing
  • Focus on data driven decisions to drive both top and bottom-line performances, Strong process flow, equipment, and process control knowledge

Qualifications you must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in  Engineering, Operations Management, or applicable field and 12 years of relevant experience; OR an Advanced Degree and 10 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Operations experience in manufacturing
  • Experience leading a P&L and/or with cost, budget, or project management
  • Strategic Leadership experience
  • Forecasting and/or planning experience
  • Experience with International Shipping requirements
  • Skilled in SAP
  • Knowledge with Ship ERM
  • Union experience preferred
  • Experience leading self-directed work teams across multiple functional disciplines
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
  • Experience in managing both internal and external vendors and suppliers

What is my role type?

In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. We’ve introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment. This position is:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
