An exciting new opportunity has arisen within the Boeing Vertical Lift Supply Chain team for a Supply Chain Specialist - Asset Manager on the UK Apache LTTSS program who will support end users through the fulfillment of materiel demands. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day support to the receipt and issue of Boeing materiel to and from the MOD supply chain, as well as supporting Integrated Logistics Operations Cell activities to ensure timely satisfaction of spares demands. The successful candidate will need to be proactive, agile thinker able to solve complex problems with a multi-stakeholder environment.

Responsible to the Apache Material Flow Manager, you will carry out applicable duties and will be aware of, and follow, Boeings stringent safety procedures and processes.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Receive materiel from the Boeing Supply Chain and issue this into the MOD’s Apache AH64E warehouse.

  • Use Boeing forecasting tools to determine levels of materiel required for induction into the Boeing Repair and Overhaul system to maintain accurate Stock maximum to satisfy contractual Key Performance Indicators.

  • Induction of all materiel entering the reverse supply chain on Boeing Log IS and produce any necessary paperwork.

  • Identifies and resolves customer supply chain management issues and discrepancies.

  • Track and monitor aircraft repairable parts within the reverse supply chain.

  • Supports Company and customer safety processes and procedures by identifying and reporting safety concerns to preclude injury or hardware damage.

  • Progression of end user demands to support aircraft maintenance planning and decision making.

  • Apply inventory optimisation principles to streamline holdings of slow/non-moving parts.

  • Apply Continuous Improvement methodologies to seek opportunities to deliver best value for money to the programme

  • Develop productive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Effectively deal with any queries, correspondence or return of non-conforming spares.

  • To carryout/assist in other Supply duties as required by the Material Flow Manager or the Logistic Team Leader.

  • Able to follow standard operating procedures and work in a methodical, tidy and safe manner.

  • Support the Apache Material Flow Manager or Logistic Team Leader with the implementation of Company Policy and Procedure.

  • Through the generation sound Continuous Improvement and cost saving methodologies to seek opportunities to best deliver value for money to the programme and the customer.

  • Create, maintain and submit contractually required metrics and performance reports to ensure full adherence to our agreed Business key performance indicators.

Key interfaces include:

  • Liaison with other UK Supply Chain functions (Strategic, Supplier Management and Procurement and Asset Managers).

  • Ministry of Defence personnel for the receipt and delivery of aircraft spares.

  • Boeing Engineering and Quality teams to assist with the management of repairable and non-conforming parts.

  • Supply Chain employees at dispersed locations throughout the Boeing Defence UK entities.

  • Attend/host internal meetings as necessary.

  • Travel to external training events or meetings with suppliers and customers as required and approved by the Apache Material Flow Manager.

Essential requirements:

  • Must have experience of supply chain related activities & operations

  • Flexible, highly motivated with a pro-active approach to assigned duties

  • Able to work within a small team

  • Possess advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word. Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Demonstrate sound communication skills to deal with all customers and colleagues

  • The ability to obtain SC Clearance

Preferred experience:

  • Experience working with Management Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI), SAP and Warehouse-On-Web (WOW) software would be an advantageous but not essential.

  • Experience of Ministry of Defence Supply Chain regulations

  • Experience in aviation/defence industry
