Description:This role is crucial for improving readiness, reducing costs, and enhancing technical and quality performance through public-private partnerships with key government stakeholders such as Air Force and Navy organizations. The role involves achieving program strategies, leading process improvement and MRO activities, ensuring on-time and on-cost deliveries, and providing strategic guidance for new business growth and retention. The position requires leading program sustainment operations both domestically and internationally, and delivering products and services through matrixed/deployed personnel and suppliers.

The role will be located in Utah near Hill Air Force Base and will be responsible for leading and executing sustainment activities in support of the Air Force Air Logistics Complexes (ALC) and Navy Fleet Readiness Centers (FRC). The director supervises the site leads at WR-ALC, OC-ALC, FRC-E, FRC-SE, and FRC-SW. Site lead positions at all ALCs and FRCs report directly to the sustainment engineering director.

The Sustainment Engineering Director will:
• Create a strong Public / Private Partnership culture within the Air Force Air Logistics Complexes, Air Force Sustainment Center, Air Force Material Command, Navy Fleet Readiness Centers, and Commander Fleet Readiness Center organizations.
• Achieve schedule, technical and quality performance targets in support of program strategies, goals, and objectives
• Assess, evaluate, and facilitate process improvement efforts to maximize partnership outcomes
• Maximize strengths of Lockheed Martin to deliver more readiness at less cost in concert with ALC and FRC partners
• Ensure disciplined systems engineering principles are established and utilized throughout the program to achieve best in business sustainment operations
• Maintain, design, and improve processes for planning and managing workflow to ensure our key results are attained--100 quality, 100 on-time delivery, and 100 commitment to the long-range plan
• Maintain oversight of MRO activities to ensure on-time and on-cost deliveries
• Facilitate and strengthen relations with USG customers and partners
• Interface with programs, functions and suppliers to ensure fulfillment of needs, achievement of customer satisfaction, and growth in the line of business
• Provide strategic guidance to facilitate new business growth and business retention
• Serve as principal Sustainment point of contact for execution and delivery of Sustainment products and services
• Coordinate daily with program counterparts
• Lead the program Sustainment functional operations, both domestically and internationally
• Provide planning and leadership for the various functional teams that deploy services to the field
• Deliver products and services to the customers through matrixed/deployed personnel and suppliers
• Nurture collaborative relationship with Program Office counterparts
• Direct planning, scheduling, and implementation of sustainment operations and on-going activities with services/countries

3. Demonstrated expertise in sustainment engineering, process improvement, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities.
4. Strong knowledge of Air Force and Navy sustainment organizations, including Air Force Air Logistics Complexes (ALC) and Navy Fleet Readiness Centers (FRC).
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
6. A strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement long-range plans that align with program goals and objectives.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
