Position Summary
Lead the Flexible Modular Area (FMA) team by scheduling and coordinating workflow, troubleshooting, and problem solving when needed. You will act as a liaison between associates, Planning and management as well as be a High-Performance Team Leader. At Parker, you will cultivate a strong culture by participating in High Performance Teams and operating in a LEAN structure.
Responsibilities
- Coordination of FMA associates to perform daily assignments and workload to prioritize shipping picks to effectively meet customer needs in both Metals and Thermal Business Units.
- Communicate between Finance, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain on material flow and outgoing/ incoming of goods.
- Perform all duties related to the Die Cutter Operator.
- Back-up when needed to cover labor shortages and spikes in demand.
- Perform ERP transactions and ensure all shipping documents are created and maintained accurately.
- Be the High-Performance Team Lead for the group. Guide, support, and ensure effective training for new employees. Assist in training for the team.
- Perform daily audits of FMA area ordering work supplies (i.e., boxes, tape, labels) as necessary.
- Develop improvement plans to increase efficiency in the FMA operation based on needs of business and trouble spots.
- Complete all internal departmental documentation accurately and on time.
- Communicate well between departments, to notify leaders and engineers to problem solve issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all machines.
- Work cross functionally to support company LEAN and High-Performance team objectives and initiatives.
- Use appropriate PPE for designated area.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship or have U.S. Permanent Resident Status required.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Ability to perform basic math, reading, writing and computer skills such as basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and use of Microsoft Office.
- Personal/ Soft skills: Must demonstrate effective organizational and verbal/written English. communication skills.
- Ability to lift and or move up to 40 lbs.
- GED or High School Diploma required.
- Relevant Work Experience: 4+ years of manufacturing experience required.
- Prior experience as a team lead preferred.
- Experience with ERP, SAP, Precision or any other shipping software preferred.
- Expert knowledge on picking packing, shipping, and receiving goods.
- Prior experience with Lean manufacturing and 5s programs preferred.
- Ability to be a proactive leader and drive change.
