What You Will Be Doing
The F-35 Test Planning and Operations manager will manage a team of system engineers responsible for the test planning, scheduling, process, and coordination of laboratory test and support activities in the Mission Systems Integration Labs (MSIL). The team is also responsible for providing post-test artifacts in support of formal software release activities and will provide support for flight test activities.

The candidate will be expected to perform direct technical tasks for approximately 50 of their time and will perform leadership tasks for the other 50 of their time. Overall, the Test Planning and Operations team is responsible for the test management and coordination of all test and lab activities in MSIL labs.

Additional responsibilities include personnel management, team performance, continuous process improvement, training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

The successful candidate will need to have very strong communication and presentation skills and will be required to interact with various stakeholders including JSF program Office (JPO) customers, program directors, program vice presidents and with teams across the Engineering & Technical organization.

You will need to be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aeronautical, Aerospace Engineering (or STEM degree) or non-technical degree with relevant technical experience.

  • Experience in or working with system test or test planning and operations.

  • Experience with System Integration & Test processes.

  • Leadership experience
    Desired Skills:
  • Excellent technical and communication skills (verbal & written) are required.

  • Desire/ability to work in a laboratory environment.

  • The role requires strong leadership skills as well as strong interpersonal skills for mentoring, guidance and managing a team of senior and principle System Test engineers.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite applications, MS Teams, Databases, technical graphics, Confluence, SharePoint, etc.

  • US Air Force avionics and aircraft experience.

    Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
    Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
    Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
