Position Summary
Supervises and coordinates activities of warehouse associates. Perform a variety of distribution activities including shipping, receiving, material handling, put away and inventory.
Responsibilities
- Follows established safety and environmental policies, procedures and methods applicable to the work area.
- Able to work in all areas of distribution.
- Ability to communicate to freight carriers to scheduling outbound shipments.
- Receives incoming materials and ships outgoing product/materials to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of inventory and product.
- Picks and routes items to specified departments. Properly and safely handles and moves materials throughout the facility to meet production demands and customer delivery expectations.
- Assists in putting received product away in the assigned location with the proper labeling.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operates tier lift truck or uses handtruck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Assists in inventory control processes.
- Maintains Team Improvement Board.
- Provides input on employees for performance assessment purposes.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Associates degree in Business or Operations preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience in a warehouse role preferred.
- Full knowledge of all areas within the warehouse.
- Fluent in using Parker problem solving tools.
SKILLS:
- Previous forklift experience and training required.
- Knowledge of order processing systems.
- Computer skills including MS Office and ability to learn Parker business systems.
- Flexibility in working hours – willing to work any hours needed and overtime as necessary.
- Ability to report out in front of large groups (ie. Board Review, Communication Meeting, Kaizen Report Out).
- Ability to lead and manage projects with minimal assistance.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Organizational and interpersonal skills.
Pay Rate: $23.50 - $25
