Position Summary
The Value Stream Warehouse Supervisor leads a second shift (1:00 pm to 9:30 pm) with 30 hourly team members. Reporting to a Value Stream Manager, the Supervisor oversees day-to-day activities and leads his/her team on Parker’s Lean system processes and Win Strategy to ensure a safe work environment, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a qualified work force, reduce operating costs, inventories, and lead times through continuous improvements. Responsibilities
- Meets with the Value Stream associates regularly to reflect as a team on problems, solutions, and challenges to maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
- Leads the plant value stream(s) in daily operations and continuous improvements, which include but are not limited to supply chain, production control, manufacturing priorities and coordination between shifts.
- Inventory management utilizing Value managed inventory applications and programs
- Creates the basis for employee empowerment and continuous improvement by ensuring standardized work and processes are followed, needed adjustments are implemented and the area is compliant with safety and 5S requirements.
- Holds regular team meetings to maintain a collaborative team atmosphere and assigns team members tasks and support activities from departments outside of the team.
- Leads cross-training for Value Stream associates and backups from other value streams to assure the continuous smooth running of the value stream in order to get quality right the first time.
- Partners with the Value Stream Manager to develop the future state value stream map and manages plans to achieve plans as documented in the Value Steam Tracking Center.
- Team Supervisor works with the Group Leader and Value Stream Team to maintain Team Improvement Boards. A visually controlled environment must be developed to assure no problems are hidden.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated teamwork and team-building skills. Ability to assess and develop individual and team skills and capabilities.
- Ability to create/maintain enthusiasm for challenges and serve as role model by promoting safety, innovative ideas and positive change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 3 to 5 years of management or supervisory experience Minimum 5 years’ sales and spaneting experience
- Experience leading LEAN teams preferred
- Sufficient background in accounting, PC skills, manufacturing, human resource management and inventory control.
