Description:Operate and monitor Wastewater Treatment Plant (WTP) operations
Direct the activities of lower level operators
Performing tests, such as pH, selected atomic absorption analysis (copper and lead), and ammonia. Recording is critical, maintain a daily operating log, calibration log and temperature log.
Collect water samples site wide for external testing.
Ensure all shift activities are recorded - detailed daily log entries.
Observe all mechanical, electrical and chemical safety practices.
Ensure the final effluent meets all permit requirements through lab tests.
Ensure all equipment is functioning properly, mechanical and electrical.
Document and monitor any/all operational changes (pH, level, temp, concentration levels )
Perform preventative maintenance as assigned (pH probe calibration, pumps, filters, sludge press)
Order and receive inventory required to operate the plant
Routine inspections for WTP equipment, chemical and petroleum storage tanks site wide.
Interface with wastewater/environmental engineer to ensure compliance with the wastewater discharge permit – reported to NYS monthly.
Work with support groups such as, solution maintenance, facilities maintenance, lab personnel and operations maintenance.
Basic Qualifications:
Min 5 years experience operating waste water treatment plant
Trained to safely clean up chemical spills
Trained and certified hazardous waste handling
Lab skills including Operating Atomic Absorption Analyzer, pH and ammonia testing
Detailed data recording skills
Mechanical and electrical skills - pump rebuilds, plumbing, probe cleaning and calibrating
Strong understanding of chemical related reactions - acids, bases, oxidizers, flammables and water reactions.
Specialized safety equipment - fall protection, confined space
Required to work at heights
Desired Skills:
Lead technician experience
DOT certified
Trained and experienced with RCRA Hazardous waste handling
DOT HazMat Shipping certified

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $62,100 - $119,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $71,400 - $129,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
