We are currently recruiting for an AMO Component Technician to join our team in Calgary, AB at our Calgary 8 facility. We offer a competitive compensation package including dental and medical benefits and RRSP matching.
Key Responsibilities
- Landing gear overhaul – hydraulic nose and main.
- Repair, modify, troubleshoot and functional-test components of aircraft component systems.
- Layout and bending of ridged lines.
Additional responsibilities:
- Qualified to perform repairs and assembly tasks under the supervision of your team leader.
- Responsible to the assigned leader and have ability to take direction verbally and through printed media.
- Basic knowledge of Standard Practices and Mechanics Systems, accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, engineering orders, test documents, manufacturer’s installation manuals
- Have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of other aircraft systems i.e., hydraulics, flight controls and major components.
- Perform hydraulic tests and inspections to ensure Mechanics systems are in compliance with industry and safety standards.
- Keep accurate records of all work performed and maintain inventory of tools and equipment.
- Maintain a clean work area and alert the leadership team of any safety concerns; take immediate action or report immediately any unsafe conditions.
- Responsible for ensuring both accuracy and traceability of parts removed or installed on aircraft components.
- Properly utilize Maintenance test equipment to perform systems tests. Properly utilize and maintain Mechanics hand tools to perform installations and repairs
- Safely operate ground support equipment, i.e., Power carts, lifts (when properly trained), etc. as required
- Perform other work as assigned
Qualifications
Please note that this is a unionized position; below are the qualifications and competencies required; this corresponds with wages outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement:
- Requires an in-depth knowledge of Company procedures and policies. Must also have an in-depth knowledge of aircraft components and be knowledgeable as to components’ functions in the system.
- Preferred that the successful candidate will have a current AME-M Transport Canada license, or equivalency in experience
