Operate walk-in abrasive blast cabinet and shotpeen equipment to clean surfaces of a variety of aircraft parts and materials.
Typical Responsibilities
Follow prescribed procedures, operation sheets, ordinary drawings, and specified methods to clean rust, scale, corrosion, and other surface blemishes, imperfections, and accumulations for larger aircraft parts and material, using abrasive blast walk-in cabinet.
Operate hand shotpeening equipment to shotpeen parts in accordance with specifications.
Operate vapor blast booth, sandblast tumbling machine, and hand sandblast cabinet to clean surface of various parts, when required.
Mask specified areas of parts, run test samples, check work, load machines with shot, grit, etc., degrease and clean parts, and other related work when necessary.
Refer questionable conditions or recurring difficulties to working leader or foreman.

Basic Qualifications:
Requires ability to use ordinary drawings as reference to determine areas to be shotpeened or cleaned, and use micrometers, calipers, etc. to check work. Also requires basic knowledge of shotpeening and abrasive blasting methods.
Experience: 3 to 6 months
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
