Raytheon Field Engineering is anticipating an opportunity for a Principal Field Service Specialist In the DC Metro or Pacific Region to support Command and Control Switching Systems (CCSS).
What You Will Do
- Provide on-site Engineering and Technical Assistance Services on a routine basis.
- Identify customers’ needs, clarify information, explain procedures, answer questions, research every issue and provide solutions and/or alternatives.
- Work with other engineering disciplines and subject matter experts to resolve issues.
- Install System upgrades by following installation and user instruction guides and “scripts”
- Documents field issues and maintains records for later analysis. Coordinates with other departments who will be affected by testing.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- 5 + years’ experience with Raytheon proprietary DSS-2A digital switching system product line and Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Red Switches
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued TOP SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Experience performing complex troubleshooting and analysis to correct system discrepancies
- Experience reading, interpreting and executing statements of work, drawing packages, wiring diagrams, floor plans, technical documentation, directives and standards
- Experience in performing Software and Firmware upgrades on Windows, Linux, and VxWorks
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Familiar with Juniper IP communications equipment, government voice, and dedicated & bulk encryption devices
- Strong teamwork skills – Ability to interact with senior external personnel and Raytheon Engineers on significant technical matters, often requiring coordination between organizations.
- Possess communication skills necessary for problem resolution with military/corporate customers and vendors.
- Work independently to develop timely and effective solutions to technical problems of various scope and complexity.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
