This Cabin Retrofit Solution Engineer position is opened at Airbus in Toulouse.

The job holder joins a team that establishes cabin modification/upgrades for Airbus commercial aircraft, after aircraft delivery.

The job holder is validating the contractual delivery date of engineering data, SB and Kits on simple/medium projects he/she is leading & for complex projects he/she is contributing.

On the French perimeter, he/she validates technical solutions & associated documentation and identifies, proposes and supports new Retrofit adaptations.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • During Acquisition phase

In the context of optional modification requested by Customers after aircraft delivery, on demand, you may support the pull of experienced people who will manage to analyse the Technical Offers on the french perimeter, by:

  • Investigating & searching engineering impacts (CI) & design solutions on your area of expertise

  • Proposing & validating the mod build-up (Known, CTK, New) for simple/medium/large projects you are responsible

  •  Launching the Pre Feasibility Study (PFS) and Full Feasibility Study (FFS), if required, to the serial Design Office

  • After customer acceptance :

Once the offer is accepted, you lead simple/medium/large projects or you contribute to complex & Mega deal projects.

When getting the leading role, you are accountable for overall project management activities during the production phase by:

  •  creating, supervising & validating TRS, Interface table, engineering drawing release, engineering conf analysis, SB preparation, LOC release, SB scrutiny

  •  Ensuring the 100 freeze of the engineering drawings & List Of Components for the committed BU letter Target Date

You are contributing to cabin conversions projects (including complex & Mega deal) for which you are accountable for engineering activities during the production phase ;  following the serial line worksharing between France & Germany, you are responsible to manage french activities for cabin conversions as follow:

  •  Participate to Kick Off Meeting for SIMCC4 (technical scope & detailed planning validation)

  •  Being the engineering responsible for your portion of cabin contributions in front of SIMCx actors (TRS, engineering drawing, LOCs & SB drawing set)

  •  Ensuring project management of your contribution deliverables (including LLI & LOCs)

  •  Elaborating SB preparation activities for your perimeter (internal or external preparation/authoring) depending on the Make or Buy Policy

  •  Filling in the TRS (CTK Mod) instruction for the engineering portion you are responsible for

  • Elaborating the impacted CI list and the Interface table from the Technical Offer (TO) &43; pre/post cabin layout for the work package you are responsible with

  • Analysing & validating PRE/POST design solutions for the RF/CI your are responsible for

  • Creating & validating engineering & design activities following the release process (based on your technical delegations)

  • Keeping Suprem planning up to date for all activities under your responsibility

  •  Identifying “Long Lead Item” (LLI) part for early ordering and the final List Of Components (LOC), to be in line with the kit delivery Target Date (TD)

  • Leading the full Certif plan and involving the required CVE

  • Being Responsible for Engineering/LOC production planning (BU letter) for your portion

  •  Providing the certified Mod or drawing numbers for impacted regulations and proposing associated Means & Compliance (Certif plan) to support the Modification Approval Sheet (MAS) release in due time to allow modifications approval before the start of the SB scrutiny phase

  •  Participating to the SB Scrutiny for your portion (based on your technical delegations)

  • Providing technical support during SB embodiment on aircraft via remote (as necessary) and provide answer to SB queries & Defect report (DR),

  •  Ensuring on-site technical assistance during the working party. This role will involve some business travels to foreign countries for periods of several weeks

  • Contribution & participating to the recap project meeting

When you have the required experience, other functions/responsibilities can be accumulated:

  • Technical delegations for Specific Design Work (SDW)

  •  RTE 1, 2 delegations

  • Defect Report (DR) signature

  • SB technical approval delegations

  • Support the newcomers upskilling

  • Tutor for new team members (upskilling of the newcomers)

Skills and experience:

  • Beginner with Master/Engineering degree on aeronautical domain as mechanical/electrical systems installation or structure

  • Technician degree with a 3 to 5 years experience mechanical/electrical systems installation or structure

  • Experience in Aircraft Design (in Design Office but especially well appreciated on A350)

  • With a 2 to 5 years experience as Cabin Retrofit Solution Engineer

  • Experience in project management

  • Good communication skills

  • Professional (Technical purpose)/conversational level of English
