Job Summary:

The Corporate Counsel will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team with a primary focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts. This position requires a proactive and organized individual with excellent legal contracting acumen and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.

This position requires excellent writing skills and a keen eye for detail, accuracy, and quality. Responsibilities include:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various types of contracts, including but not limited to NDAs, lease agreements, customer agreements, Business Associate Agreements, software license agreements and vendor contracts.
  • Provide legal advice and support to internal stakeholders on contract-related matters.
  • Ensure that all contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of contract templates and standard terms.
  • Support the legal team in contract management and administration.
  • Create and maintain summaries of key contracts.
  • Conduct legal research on contract-related issues and stay updated on relevant legal developments.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless contract execution and management.
  • Assist in the resolution of contract disputes and provide recommendations for mitigating contractual risks.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the General Counsel.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • License to practice law
  • 1-3 years experience in contract law, preferably in a corporate or in-house setting.
  • Strong understanding of contract law and principles
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and communications skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrable maturity, professionalism, and gravitas.
  • Able to adapt to changing conditions, and to generate effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they arise.
  • Understanding of personalities and behavioral styles in order to work collaboratively with a variety of people and to make informed decision around resourcing, reporting structures and relationships.
  • Familiarity with HIPPA and/or healthcare law is a plus.
  • This position is designated Safety Sensitive for purposes of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act.
