Job Summary

This role will be responsible for managing the proposal preparation process for site bids and change notices in accordance with the GKN bid procedure and governance, starting at the bid decision through to Bid submission to the Customer. Accountable and responsible develop the recurring and nonrecurring costs, produce compliant pricing offerings, and generate GKN Aerospace Business Model per internal guideline. This role will support new business and current business proposals, including current program changes. In addition, this role will support the internal leadership (Gate) Review process

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Manage the pricing and estimating standards process for each proposal within internal and external date expectations
  • Coordination with Operations, Supply Chain and Engineering to determine which parts will be made vs. bought and identify required special processes
  • Work with multi-functional departments to assess RFP requirements and develop accurate recurring and nonrecurring estimates for parts and assemblies
  • Provide engineering data packages to Supply Chain based on commodities for quoting, ensuring all necessary information is included
  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain to ensure all detail parts, hardware, and outside processing are quoted and received in time to support the GKN Aerospace Bid Process
  • Create basis of estimate rationales for each estimate
  • Utilize Site ERP system to identify recurring and nonrecurring cost impacts for changes in scope to existing work packages
  • Generate compliant Business Models as part of the Bids & Proposals Business Line team and agreed with customer Business IPT’s in conjunction with IPT staff.
Required Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of manufacturing environment work experience.
  • U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to understand technical drawings/models
  • Ability to articulate costing standards and accounting methods to demonstrate value to a customer.
Preferred Qualifications
  • GKN Experience 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Engineering
  • Experience in Aerospace and Defense engineering, estimating, proposal management, or related role.
  • Understanding of RFP/RFI requests from customers and able to translate them into manageable work packages for team members.
  • Experience writing Costing Volumes for US DoD proposals.
