About the role
At this role, you are responsible to provide assessment, psychological support, counselling and employee assistance program (EAP) services to all QR Staff, through individual and/or group sessions in a clinical context to enable employees overcome difficulties, make decisions and promote personal development
Key Accountabilities
- Provide short term / brief counselling or Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services to all QR staff to enable employees overcome difficulties, make decisions and promote personal development.
- Performs brief clinical assessment to establish baseline mental health functioning.
- Manage clinical case load through individual psychotherapy for employees or group therapy depending on the case/situation.
- Refer staff to clinical psychologists for complex cases or cases requiring treatment or clinical intervention.
- Provides mental health first aid and critical incident stress debriefing as required.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation and provide regular statistical reports to the Senior Psychologist – Head of Psychology Services and/or Lead Clinical Psychologist on psychological services provided.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
- Provide staff education about referral resources related to stress, cultural adaptation, work life balance, or other life challenges.
- Provide psychological health awareness to staff through psycho-educational activities to create a psychologically healthy workplace environment.
- Provide required support to staff following any critical incident wherein employees have experienced a traumatic event that is outside of their normal job exposure, in line with our duty of care for the safety and wellbeing of employees.
- Support other internal departments as required to ensure a safe and healthy workplace is maintained.
- Participate in health and wellness promotional activities.
- Perform other department duties related to the position as required.

Qualifications
About you
- Minimum Master’s degree or Doctoral degree in Counselling Psychology or a related field or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience.
- Candidate should review Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) licensing requirements relevant to the job title they are applying for to ensure that they are eligible for Department of Healthcare Professionals (DHP) licensing.
- Knowledge of various psychological tests/assessments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office.
- Additional certification in specific therapeutic interventions including (but not limited to) CBT, REBT, EMDR, crisis intervention, etc.
- Membership in professional associations related to the field of psychology.
- Proficiency in other languages is an advantage.
- Insert practical and technical knowledge needed including management skills
- Excellent Command of English language
- Ability to conduct initial assessments using review of psychosocial history and observation techniques.
- Ability to prepare and manage psychologist case notes.
- Ability to work under pressure in emergencies as part of a team and unsupervised.
- Capable of establishing good rapport with QRMC staff and other departments.
