Description:Lockheed Martin’s SOF GLSS Team, the leading provider of a wide range of tailored logistics, maintenance and sustainment services is seeking a Data Scientist to join the SOF GLSS team in Fayetteville, NC. The candidate will perform classified duties supporting multiple Special Operations groups.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Data Scientist your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
•Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
•Mine and analyze data from databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, spaneting techniques and business strategies.
•Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
•Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, ad targeting and other business outcomes.
•Develop company A/B testing framework and test model quality.
•Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
•Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.

This position is located in Fayetteville, NC Discover Fayetteville
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is in direct support of a U.S. government contract that requires a company-sponsored clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications:
Statistics – Good applied statistical skills, including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimators, etc.
Proficiency in statistics is essential for data-driven companies.
Machine Learning – good knowledge of machine learning methods like k-Nearest Neighbors, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests.
Strong Math Skills (Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra) - understanding the fundamentals of Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra is important as they form the basis of a lot of predictive performance or algorithm optimization techniques.
Data Wrangling – proficiency in handling imperfections in data is an important aspect of a data scientist job description.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
