Job overview and responsibilities

This developer position plays a critical role in our journey to modernize the schedule development process in Network Planning. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues, opportunities, or problems in order to maximize the benefit of IT and Business investments.

Your primary focus will be to work with large datasets to analyze and solve complex problems. You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. You will be part of a team working on different layers of the cloud using AWS services. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, design, and quality product is important.

  • Develop and modify software applications/systems according to specifications
  • Basic understanding of requirements analysis
  • Provides limited support to the software development leads (Senior Developer) during the design portion of the SDLC
  • Support and troubleshoot software systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing follow-up on all issues and solutions
  • Complete comprehensive unit testing on all developed/enhanced software
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of SDLC processes, inputs/outputs, standards and best practices
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of development methodologies, software design and design patterns, integration standards as well as its applicability at coding and testing cycles
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of software engineering best practices such as: versioning and versioning control, software packaging and software release management
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of the application of development domain areas and specific technologies and tool set

Qualifications

Required

      • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
      • 2+ years of IT and business/industry work experience
      • 2+ years of experience building large-scale distributed applications with Python/Julia/C++ and SQL
      • Exposure to AWS Cloud services (such as, EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudTrail, CloudFront, Lambda, EKS, and/or ECS)
      • Knowledge and skills of using Linux environment
      • Requires advanced technical and business knowledge in software development life cycle, quality assurance, project management and other related disciplines/processes
      • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
      • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
      • Design, test, benchmark, and track the performance of analytic solutions over time
      • Work with teams across data organization to continually improve results by validating observations and insights and refining/enriching the data as needed
