The Development Officer plays a pivotal role at Prestwick Aircraft Maintenance GmbH, overseeing employee performance management and development. This position requires a proactive and diligent individual with a strong understanding of performance management principles and employee development techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement the performance management process in HR software to ensure optimal outcomes aligned with the company’s business objectives
  • Oversee and coordinate Apprentices, Mechanics and Avionics on site including, regular communication with the Hangar Supervisor and BMM; monitoring their progress, logbook progressions and providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Foster a culture of strong performance by actively engaging with employees and providing high-quality support, development plans, and constructive feedback, while monitoring staff through reviews and setting clear objectives
  • Attend weekly development meetings and work closely with BMM and supervisors to address any performance issues, including outstanding performance, and develop necessary improvement plans.
  • Involvement in reviewing staff logbooks and providing support and guidance as required.
  • Plan and organize all necessary training needs and modules, deliver comprehensive development programs, and develop and facilitate workshops and training sessions for all employees.
  • Identifying any barriers to performance by regular communication with employees.
  • Supporting employees in identifying career development opportunities and setting realistic goals.
  • Monitoring performance results of each employee, team and the organisation as a whole.
  • Analysing data to identify trends and recommend improvements in performance management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and industry regulations

Requirements
  • Previous experience in a Development role would be advantageous.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the aviation or technical services industry.
  • Experience in dealing with apprenticeships and similar programs.
  • Applicants must have the unrestricted right to live and work in Germany
  • Experience in HR-related software programs, good knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office packages including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • High level of attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in English, with the ability to adapt communication styles to effectively engage diverse audiences. Knowledge of the German language will be an advantage.
  • The ability and passion to introduce innovative Performance & Development topics and enhance existing ones.
  • Excellent interpersonal and mentorship skills, with the ability to interact easily with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to explain complex processes and employee development milestones in a clear manner.
  • Experience with interpreting performance data and statistics.
  • Understanding of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, EASA Part - 145 (European Union Aviation Safety Agency), instructions and orders of the UK Civil Aviation Administration, and instructions of the Maintenance Organization Exposition (or MOE) and maintenance procedures will be an advantage
