Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and post-repair checks on various equipment, including jockey trucks, over-the-road trucks, trailers, forklifts, and automobiles.
- Read job orders and technical service bulletins to determine work procedures for repairs and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine systems to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Inspect, adjust, and repair air brake systems and other safety devices to maintain operational safety standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on all vehicles and equipment.
- Align wheels, change tires, and replace or repair vehicle components, including headlights, wipers, seats, and more.
- Keep detailed service records, documenting parts used, work performed, and hours worked.
- Test drive repaired vehicles to ensure everything is functioning properly.
Qualifications:
- Basic experience or knowledge in vehicle maintenance. Diesel and heavy truck experience is a plus.
- Willingness to learn—on-the-job training is available for those eager to expand their skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Computer knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
