Job Title: Workshop Supervisor
Job DescriptionThe Workshop Supervisor compiles, classifies, and monitors the workshop service with regards to maintenance and disruptions to vehicles and installations. They advise management and inform team members regarding operational decision making. The Workshop Supervisor ensures quality of service by demonstrating strong leadership skills, promoting company values, and ensuring stakeholder safety. They spend approximately two-thirds of their time actively performing maintenance and repair tasks, while the remaining time is dedicated to safety culture roll-out, team supervision, and workshop organization.
Responsibilities
- Coaching and leading the team by taking end-responsibility for quality, efficiency, safety, and resources within the unit.
- Motivating team members and fostering teamwork.
- Implementing TCR processes and procedures using SAP to manage resource and manpower allocation in coordination with management.
- Ensuring correct stock management by determining and ordering available and needed resources such as spare parts and office supplies.
- Providing insights to management regarding planning feasibility and advising on possible solutions and bottlenecks.
- Identifying and visualizing planned maintenance and outstanding problems using available systems.
- Tracking progress of work packages and monitoring standard times, bottlenecks, backlog, and feasibility.
- Assisting team members in processing and making production figures and quality data visible to operations.
- Creating, checking, evaluating, and signing inspection lists.
- Implementing contingency procedures.
- Instructing team members in maintenance and malfunctions to ensure safe maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
- Facilitating knowledge transfer for professional development of team members.
- Participating in regular consultations for coordinating and evaluating activities with departments such as customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Advising customers regarding the availability of vehicles and equipment.
- Contributing to the professional knowledge to set up quality measurements in consultation with management.
- Proposing improvements such as adjusting procedures and creating new work agreements.
- Investigating and suggesting technical improvements to equipment to reduce costs and increase availability for customers.
- Performing tasks specific to technicians, including associated responsibilities and authorities.
- Taking end-responsibility for workshop administration within the unit, including work orders, invoicing preparation, and time control.
- Demonstrating active safety leadership by driving the safety culture and implementing initiatives to continuously improve safety performance and OHS management system.
Essential Skills- 3-5 years of hands-on GSE or diesel technician experience
- 3-5 years of supervision experience
- ERP system experience

Work Environment
The work environment consists of a small shop with a team of 6-7 technicians, with plans to expand staff once this candidate is hired. The shop is in the process of getting a new facility.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
