Tasks
The Electrical Preparators main tasks are:
- Prepare and assemble electrical harnesses and sub-assemblies according to technical specifications.
- Cut wires to precise lengths for looms, pinning, and connecting operations.
- Route sensors and switches for subcontract processing as required.
- Conduct thorough inspections of sensors, switches, and small harnesses to ensure functionality and adherence to quality standards
- Identify and address defects or inconsistencies in components and assemblies
- Perform cleaning and basic maintenance of sensors, switches, and small harnesses to maintain optimal performance
- Ensure components are free from debris, corrosion, and other contaminants
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including preparation steps and inspection results
- Report any issues, delays, or non-conformities to the Team Lead or relevant department
- Adhere to all company procedures and safety standards during preparation and assembly processes
- Ensure all work meets applicable aerospace industry regulations and standards
- AOG/On wing support if required
Requirements
The ideal Electrical Preparator should meet the following requirements:
- GCSE or Equivalent
- Degree or Equivalent in an Electrical or Engineering subject (Desirable)
- Electrical or Engineering Apprenticeship (Desirable)
- Experience in electrical harness preparation, assembly, or inspection.
- Familiarity with aerospace components and systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, wire cutters, crimpers, and basic electrical testing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
- Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good knowledge of wiring installation techniques and equipment
- A good understanding of SAP – (systems application and product)
- Team player with proven ability to manage, lead and guidance
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages
- Excellent communications skills
- Good organizational skills with strong planning and operational execution
- Excellent planning, problem solving organization and administration skills
- Must have the right to live and work in the UK
- Must be willing to work shifts
