Position Summary

 

Magellan Aerospace, Middletown, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a reliable and hard-working Electrician. As a key member of our manufacturing team, the successful individual installs, services and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of industrial machinery and equipment lines, controls, main switch panels and power within the plant systems by performing the following duties in a maintenance action.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Installs, tests, thermal surveys, trouble-shoots, diagnoses, repairs and maintains a variety of major or minor type electrical (non-electronic) equipment and machinery.
  • Locates systems and repairs all types of electrical troubles on power lines, electrical controls, and circuits, and main switch panels.
  • Sets up a variety of electronic test tools, conducts functional tests, runs equipment or system through the necessary cycles to detect any variation from specification.  (Non-electronic)
  • Designs and builds electrical circuitry as required.
  • Makes and installs temporary or substitute parts until standard of required parts are obtained. (Non-electronic)
  • Uses electrician hand and power tools and electrical testing equipment.
  • Works all type of electrical appliances including automatic and remote control systems.
  • Trouble shoot, maintain and repair line and low voltage controls.
  • Performs and documents PM related tasks.
  • Basic housekeeping to clean up the area from the work performed and to maintain the housekeeping in the area using the proper conventional utensils (brooms, dusters, wet/dry rags, wet/dry vacuums), but excluding the use of mops and automatic floor scrubbers (i.e. Tennant floor scrubber). Maintaining the area includes material, parts, machines, tools and work tables used in manufacturing as well as objects used to store or stage items used in manufacturing.

 

 

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus specialized training either through apprenticeship program or trade/technical school. Must pass Electrician Exam.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, circuit drawings. Know OHMS law fundamentals of electricity and be familiar with all electrical equipment throughout the plant. Blue Print reading. Use electrician hand and power tools. Thorough knowledge of area, state and national electric codes.

  • Technical system and machine manuals. Understand and interpret wiring diagrams, schematic drawings and circuit drawings.

  • Fork Lift Truck Operator Certification. Man-lift Operator Certification

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as electrical drawings and schematics, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, electric loading and units.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
