Tasks
The Electricians main tasks are:
- Perform detailed inspections of electrical systems in aircraft landing gear assemblies.
- Diagnose electrical faults or failures using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to determine root causes of issues.
- Repair or replace faulty wiring, sensors, actuators, and other electrical components.
- Calibrate and test electrical systems to ensure proper operation.
- Carry out preventive maintenance to extend the lifecycle of electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and modifications in compliance with MRO and regulatory documentation standards.
- Update electrical schematics and technical manuals as necessary.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with aviation safety standards and regulations (e.g., EASA, FAA).
- Adhere to company safety procedures and promote a safe working environment.
- Work closely with other MRO technicians, engineers, and quality assurance teams.
- Provide technical support and training to junior technicians as required
- AOG/On wing support if required
Requirements
The ideal Electrician should meet the following requirements:
- Diploma, ‘A’ Level or equivalent qualification in an electrical engineering subject would be desirable.
- Aerospace apprenticeship would be desirable.
- Math’s and English GCSE A-C Grades equivalent.
- Extensive experience within an Aerospace Engineering or equivalent environment.
- Previous electrical background (Essential).
- Good knowledge of wiring installation techniques and equipment.
- A good understanding of SAP – (systems application and product).
- Able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the legislative and quality system requirements.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Self-motivated, assertive, and adaptable under pressure to meet delivery targets.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and a flexible approach to work.
- Candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK unrestricted.
- Must be willing to work shifts.
