Job Description:
A career without limits

As the nation’s flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It’s something we’ve been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world’s first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.

The role:

Join our emerging talent team in Strategic Resourcing on a 12 month maternity cover opportunity. You’ll play a key part in delivering the attraction and recruitment strategy for Emerging Talent needs for business areas in the airline. Youll be part of building an outstanding student brand, to contribute to us being a top graduate and apprentice employer. Emerging Talent is critical to our business as we grow talent from grass root level engaging over 50,000 young people to recruiting 300 grads and apprentices this year.

Your accountabilities will be:

  • Managing our student outreach activity which encompasses building relationships with schools and colleges to arrange events and deliver employability programmes to get young people to consider a career in aviation with the aim of engaging 50,000 young people across 2024.
  • Managing the delivery of student organisations partnerships that specialise in diversity and working with young people from lower socio economic backgrounds such as Princes Trust, Sutton Trust and many more; including working hand in hand with the community investment team charity fund.
  • Manage the relationship and platform Speedbird-Z which has 27,000 student users. The running of the platform involves creating e-learning content for students, managing digital mentors and working with the supplier to constantly improve the site.
  • Manage and coordinate our colleague volunteering opportunities within employability, from engaging colleagues to get involved with volunteering to supporting colleagues delivering their own events.
  • Deliver our flagship employability programmes such as the Golden Ticket programme and student ambassadors, recognising outstanding young people and nurturing them to a successful career, which involves face to face delivery of student sessions to engage them with activities to excite them.
  • Manage and deliver large scale career events on behalf of British Airways, some with over 10,000 attendees
  • Embed safeguarding practices into all student activity that we deliver as a business.
  • Support with all emerging talent activity for the wider team including work experience placements and insight days as well as end-to-end recruitment activity, return of investment reporting including diversity data at each stage of the process.

As this is a maternity cover opportunity, experience in the early careers space and managing student groups is needed to apply.

Applications close at midnight on Monday 18th March.

Must be able to start with immediate affect.
