Boeing Commercial Airplanes is excited to offer opportunities for an Environmental Control Technician C to join our Materials Management & Tooling team in the Puget Sound Region located in Washington State.
As an Environmental Control Technician C, you will be at the forefront of ensuring a safe and compliant work environment, playing a vital role in the management of hazardous materials and environmental controls. Your expertise will be essential in handling the receipt, sorting, and disposal of materials, while also monitoring time-sensitive supplies to maintain optimal conditions. Position Responsibilities:
Issue or deliver chemicals and supplies to control points, such as the airplane on ground (AOG), flightline, and shop, while entering material data into the online computer system or using a barcode scanner.
Receive and dispose of hazardous materials from appropriate areas in accordance with applicable regulations and Boeing standards.
Sort and dispose of hazardous materials in defined waste profiles.
Monitor time/temperature sensitive (TATS) materials, rotating stock as required and disposing of out-of-compliance materials per designated specifications.
Store hazardous materials and supplies in designated areas, monitoring for visible degradation as necessary.
Operate material handling equipment, such as electric stackers and forklifts, to move materials and supplies.
Prepare and maintain accurate records for regulatory inspections, including local, state, federal, and Boeing audits.
Serve as a chemical information resource, providing Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and safety information to shop employees, and participate in chemical and hazardous waste reduction programs.
Ensure compliance with company, state, and federal regulations for cleaning and maintaining equipment, such as spray booths and filters.
Independently order, receive, store, inventory, dispense, label, kit, and issue hazardous materials as required.
Maintain control of time and temperature-sensitive hazardous materials in accordance with quality assurance requirements.
Monitor air flows and water flows using manometers and flow meters to maintain the appropriate chemical balance for equipment associated with paint booths.
Sort and classify hazardous waste materials under the guidance of a higher-graded employee.
Clean up the work area and equipment after job completion.
Conduct confined space entry tests in booths and plenum areas prior to decontamination tasks to ensure safety, performing continuous monitoring of confined space conditions throughout task completion.
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:
Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.
Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.
Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.
Work in environments that may involve exposure to various inclement weather conditions, including extreme cold, heat, rain, snow, and wind.
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

1+ years of experience handling chemicals and/or hazardous material.
Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Currently possess a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of experience executing data entry, retrieval, and inventory management.
Experience operating a forklifts and/or electric pallet jacks.
Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions, including extreme cold, heat, rain, snow, and wind.
Typical Education & Experience:
High school graduate or GED preferred.
