ABOUT THE JOB
- Guarantees exceptional guest service by all culinary staff
- Ensures the smooth operation of the culinary departments in the absence of the Executive Chef
- Encourages associates to be creative and innovative, challenging and recognizing them for their contribution to the success of the operation
- Works with the Materials Manager in the procurement of the best product for the best price and in the management of the relevant areas of the Commissary Kitchen
- Works closely with the Stewarding Manager to ensure that hygiene standards are maintained, and that operating equipment is cared for to maximize its useful life and to minimize breakage
- Oversees the quality and variety of food and beverages served in the Associate Restaurant, ensuing that this outlet is operated to the same standard
- Handles all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily
- Always maintain a professional and high-quality service-oriented environment
- Be aware and able to enforce all fire-life safety procedures
- Remain current in all updates about new procedures and training
- Ensures that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to.
ABOUT YOU
- Previous experience working within a fast- paced 5* hotel environment with knowledge of food and beverage
- Strong motivational skills and ability to successfully lead a diverse and cohesive team
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Polite, pleasant demeanour with a neat appearance
- Possesses creativity, professionalism, and human management capabilities
- Capable of handling pressure and resolving restaurant issues
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks such as cost management while maintaining operational standards
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, expenses
- High ethical standards and integrity
- Strategic thinking and planning capabilities.
