ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Assist one or more Facilities Technician II in the skilled maintenance trades of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill, such as keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools; cleaning working area, machine, and equipment; assisting journeyman by holding materials or tools.
*Refuel all ground support equipment and facility equipment.
*Perform general maintenance of facility’s appearance such as repairing building woodwork, replacing electrical switches and fixtures, painting or touching up of structure or equipment, repairing or replacing plumbing fixtures and maintenance of parking lot and outside lawn.
*Perform any work that may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
*Performs assignments after receiving detailed instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. REQUIRED SKILLS:
* Basic practical knowledge of several maintenance trades such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and etc.
*Requires easy mobility around all sections of the facility and the dexterity to install various electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
*Must possess the ability to distinguish colors to perform work adequately.
*Must be able to lift 100 lbs (with assistance) and report to work regularly. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
*High School diploma or GED required.
*One (1) year of general maintenance experience is required.
