Position Summary (2nd shift opportunity):
Level Two – The Level Two Facilities Maintenance Technician reports to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and is critical in troubleshooting and resolving facility needs. This position involves interior and exterior facility repair, plumbing, and light electrical work. Additionally, it includes collaborating with contractors on complex issues and basic project management tasks. The individual should proficiently manage work requests through a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and address the daily needs of facility upkeep. While tools and supplies should ideally be ordered through purchasing, emergency work may necessitate procurement through local suppliers.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct plumbing tasks such as walkthroughs, changing water filters, replacing basic plumbing components, and performing basic drain cleaning with an auger.
- Install and repair building tiles for floors and ceilings.
- Construct and maintain doors, including replacing hardware such as door closures and kick stops.
- Perform painting, drywall, and plaster repair work.
- Ensure proper lighting throughout the facility.
- Maintain landscaping and sprinkler systems.
- Assemble and mount office furniture, pictures, and monitors.
- Conduct periodic inspections on water filters, fire safety devices, and doors.
- Address minor electrical device repairs.
- Conduct facility safety inspections, including fire extinguishers and eye wash stations.
- Participate in the Company 6S program as needed.
- Conduct inspections of concrete and asphalt paving.
- Maintain grounds and security features.
- Coordinate with third-party inspectors and contractors for facility services.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency with basic hand, handheld, and bench-mounted power tools.
- Ability to communicate proficiently in English.
- Basic mechanical and maintenance skills.
- Responsible for the accountability and upkeep of tools and equipment in clean, safe working order.
- Adhere to all safety requirements and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment.
- Ability to respond to emergencies to ensure employee and facility safety.
- Compliance with OSHA and other local, state, and federal regulations.
- Adherence to organization and facilities department policies and procedures.
- Building relationships and demonstrating a high level of cooperation.
- Ability to work overtime as needed, including on-call participation.
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or general education equivalent.
- 2 years of facility maintenance experience.
- 2 years of industrial facility maintenance, mechanical a plus.
- Familiarity with CMMS work order systems.
- Valid state driver’s license.
