BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate
- 3 years of experience using basic mechanical and/or electronics hand tools
- 3 years of experience with pipe fitting and fabrication
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate/Bachelor’s degree in aerospace technology or equivalent area of study
- Experience working at a rocket launch facility and supporting launch campaigns
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting complex fluid and mechanical systems
- Experience maintaining a propulsion test stand in the aerospace industry
- Military aviation experience as a propulsion or airframe technician
- Experience with orbital or structural welding
- Machining and metal fabrication experience
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with mechanical repairs and troubleshooting
- Experience with pneumatic/hydraulic system fabrication
- Familiarity with calibrated measuring instruments
- Experience using heavy equipment, including but not limited to, overhead cranes, forklifts and manlifts
- Ability to read, understand and follow detailed schematics, drawings, and instructions
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs unassisted
- Must be willing to travel up to 25%. Position is based in Brownsville, TX, however work at other SpaceX facilities for extended periods for similar work may be required
- Must be able to climb ladders and work in confined spaces
- Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Level 4: $35.00/hour
Level 5: $40.00 - $50.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
