Job Description:

This role will be heavily involved with the set-up of a new fleet planning function. Concerned with both leased and owned assets ranging from light vehicles all the way through to heavy ground support equipment, and will require an individual that is able to identify areas of potential improvements and work towards implementing and refining new and existing processes. With the responsibility of maintaining an accurate fleet record and providing guidance and reports to senior management, this role will require a strong analytical mind-set, along with experience around financial models, total cost of ownership, and strong interpersonal skills.


Job Outline

To plan and monitor all aspects of CapEx forecast, spend, and budgeting including GSE fleet and any other associated equipment for dnata Airport Operations (dAO). Embracing innovation and new technology with a strong bias towards environmentally friendly solutions and electric equipment. To optimise fleet replacement planning with operational requirements, sustainable initiatives, infrastructure availability, and asset serviceability, in accordance with dAOs strategy.


Plan



  • Supports in the planning and delivery of the strategic GSE fleet plan, with a strong focus on environmentally friendly solutions. This will include liaison between stakeholders to ensure all equipment is mutually agreed.

  • Plans and prioritises assets that should be replaced as per dAO fleet strategy.

  • Plans the GSE replacement ordering process considering internal process and industry lead times.

  • Plans regular reviews with line departments to support them in business case creation.



Deploy



  • Supports the development and deployment of the sustainable fleet management systems. This includes the development of minimum standards, quality checks and development of skills and knowledge around fleet planning.

  • Develops procedures to ensure that any financial, operational, and process data that is supplied to the wider business is correct and up to date.

  • Builds and maintains relationships between dnata Technical Services (dTS) and relevant stakeholders to ensure a seamless information share is maintained.


Lead



  • Gathers relevant data to identify assets that need replacing or disposing in line with the sustainable fleet management systems.

  • Co-ordinates with Procurement and Logistics (P&L) to identify the logistics requirement for new GSE and Pre-Delivery Inspection plans.

  • Co-ordinates with relevant stakeholders of dAO and dnata International Airport Operations (dIAO) for any asset transfers and repositioning of assets.

  • Leads the process and maintain relevant records related to asset procurement, transfers, and disposals.

  • Takes ownership of CapEx tracker, eWorkflow, and Iproc processes and coordination for stakeholder approvals.

  • Coordinates with dHQ DMS (Document Management System) team, to ensure all GSE related information held on dnata Hub is accurate and up to date.



Execute



  • Raises and expedites the fleet orders based on available specification from Global GSE contracts, maintaining the fleet CapEx tracker and updates all stakeholders with the status of requisitions.

  • Supports dTS in implementing sustainability strategy, by championing sustainable assets where feasible and identifying replacements in line with Dubai Airports (DA) infrastructure projects.

  • Liaises on a regular basis with operational teams, finance, and P&L on the status of approvals, orders, business cases, and global batch supplier contracts.

  • Monitors the actual benefits of new projects related to GSE fleet planning and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensures compliance to all relevant safety policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.

  • Takes ownership of fleet planning reports to support dTS management when it comes to fleet replacement budget.

  • Supports dIAO in GSE fleet planning related issues as and when required.



Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Automotive / Electrical & Electronics desirable.

  • 4-6 years of experience within a large maintenance organization, ideally with subject matter expertise on automotive fleet planning and data analysis or Diploma Holder

  • 6-8 years of experience within a large maintenance organization, ideally with subject matter expertise on automotive fleet planning and data analysis.

  • Additional knowledge on financial tracking, project management, or change management will be an added advantage.


Knowledge and Skills



  • Experience in Projects, Fleet Planning, or Financial related discipline desirable

  • 6-8 years of experience within a large maintenance organization, ideally with subject matter expertise on automotive fleet planning and data analysis.
