SUMMARY

Cuts, fabricates, reworks and repairs products per Master Work Instructions and Work Orders, using precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Follow template patterns, blueprints or sketches to lay out cut lines
  • Cuts selected material to size using cutting machine, shears, ceramic knives, scissors
  • Load raw material onto cutting machine table to be cut according to specifications
  • Off loads cut plies from machine and groups accordingly. Bundle/kit plies with work orders in approved bag and seal
  • Fabricates, reworks, and repairs material products per the Master Work Instructions (MWI) and VISABILITY Work Order, using precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment as instructed.
  • Inspects, verifies material and understand work orders, MWI’s, drawings and related documentation
  • Enters labor in VISABILITY system accurately, closing operations to correct work order quantity completed, clocking time correctly for start, breaks, lunch and end of shift. Works to established standard labor hours to perform assigned operations.
  • Reads work orders and related documentation to determine methods and sequence of operations and dimensional and finish specifications.
  • Lays out cutting lines of materials, such as sheet stock and fiberglass or graphite cloth, following template pattern, blueprints, sketches, or sample part, using measuring and marking instruments.
  • Cuts material to size, using shears, knives, cutters, scissors, router, or saw.
  • Sets up and operates cutting machines a or laminates plastic cloth plastic cloth and resins or impregnated cloth onto layup mold or bonding fixture, to shape parts.
  • Wraps bonding fixture or mold in vacuum bagging materials, attaches fittings to mold or fixture, such as vacuum connections, thermocouples, and probes, and exhausts air from vacuum bag to prepare lamination for curing or bonding.
  • Operates oven to cure parts.
  • Trims, drills, reams, countersinks, grinds, and finishes parts to specifications, using templates, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Verifies dimensions of parts, using precision instruments, such as dial indicators, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Fits and assembles parts and attaches hardware and fittings, such as brackets and hinges, using clamps, jigs, fixtures, power tools, and fasteners.
  • Applies tape, foam, or other type of adhesives to assembly for subsequent bonding in autoclave.
  • Repairs and reworks damaged or defective parts and assemblies by lay-up, foaming, cementing, molding, potting, casting, or similar methods per Engineering instructions.
  • Verifies dimensions of plies using measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Repairs and reworks damaged or defective plies per MWI’s and related documentation
  • Maintaining clean/neat work station
  • Maintaining tools in working condition (machine, scissors, tape measure, etc.)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of fabrics, linings, etc. with the ability to contribute to identifying potential fabric problems
  • Computer knowledge and able to perform simple programming
  • Organized and can prioritize cutting according to needs of production team
  • Read and understand work orders, MWI, drawings and related documentation to meet production requirements of products.
  • Job requires to be trained and able to handle hazardous waste.

Qualifications

  • Previous cutting experience required (2 to 5 years). To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and with minimal assistance.

Education and/or Experience

  • Ability to read and write in the English Language. Employees are required to perform essential duties satisfactorily with minimal assistance.

  • Position requires U.S. Persons and ability to lift up to 35lbs.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $20.00 to $24.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
